  Hiking trail on the Isle of Arran About the Isle of Arran The isle of Arran is a splendid island located on the South-West of Glasgow. It is the largest island in the Firth of Clyde, although a sparsely populated one (there is about 5,000 residents). Isle of Arran - How to get there from Glasgow? The journey to go to the isle of Arran is accessible and quite easy from Glasgow. A fair amount of trains go directly to Ardrossan Harbour from Glasgow Central every day, taking less than an hour. After getting off the train, you will see the harbour about 100m away, where you can go straight to the boat that will take you to Brodick.
